Sacco - One of a kind

Sacco

Sacco takes the oldest of bags, a drawstring pouch, and lets two unlikely materials define it. Its name is a plain nod to the form itself, a sack that gathers at the top and rests on its base, where soft velvet and a dense, dark rubber seem to belong together rather than compete.

The upper is made of brown velvet, a pile fabric with a deep, slightly worn hand that gathers into soft folds at the neck. Its surface shifts with the light, from warm earth to darker, mossy tones, so no two bags look exactly alike. As with any pile fabric, subtle tonal variations and a few light fibers on the surface are part of its character, not a flaw.

The base is made of natural rubber (caucciù) in deep black, chosen for strength and protection: it shapes the bottom of the bag, shields it from moisture and wear, and anchors the softness above it. Its matte, slightly irregular surface carries tiny marks and subtle variations that tell of the material’s origin and will develop a patina over time.

A drawstring in dark brown leather closes the bag at the top. The same leather cords run down the sides and are worn as straps, so the closure and the carry are a single gesture, with no added hardware or ornament.

Soft in feel and decisive in construction, Sacco carries its presence through materials and craftsmanship rather than decoration: proof that softness and structure can coexist in a single object, made to last.
