Pandino - One of a kind

A bag that has already lived a life before yours

Before it became a bag, Pandino was a sail. Not just any sail the mainsail of ES MON, a boat that spent months cutting through open water, carrying its crew across 2,471 nautical miles. Salt spray, wind, sun, the creak of the boom, the particular tension of Dacron holding its shape against the sea all of that is still in the fabric, even now that it has been folded into something you can carry on your shoulder.

When the sail could no longer serve its original purpose, it wasn't discarded. It was rescued, cleaned, and given a second life. The recycled Dacron sailcloth became the body of Pandino, while its leather details are not new hide bought for the occasion, but offcuts saved from Cecchi De Rossi bags the leftover pieces too good to throw away, too small to use elsewhere, waiting for the right project to give them purpose again.

The hardware is not generic either: it was designed exclusively for TORMENTINA, cast in aluminum specifically for this bag and no other. Each piece is then garment-dyed in drum barrels, and colored using the patented Pellevinoprocess, which draws natural tones out of the material rather than imposing them — meaning no two pieces will ever dye in quite the same way.

Pandino's philosophy is written into its own name: reduction. The same idea a sail once carried moving forward, carrying only what's needed — is now carried by the bag itself. It keeps what's essential. It lets go of the rest.

This is not a bag made to look like it has a story. It has one, stitched into the very fabric it's made from.
