Cellula 84
Cellula 84 takes the grid, a rigid and geometric form, and lets leather give it volume. Its name evokes the single cell, the basic unit of a larger organism, a nod to the three-dimensional lattice that covers the bag, where each small square seems to have grown into place rather than been imposed on the material.
The body is shaped by hand over traditional wooden molds, in a double layer of vegetable-tanned leather that is structured enough to hold its form unaided, yet still carries the slight variations of something made by human hands. The color comes from Pellevino, the patented technique that dyes the leather with organic pigments and wine-derived hues: no two pieces are ever identical, each one marked by its own shades and depths, a quiet paradox where an ancient material takes on a unique character through a contemporary, sustainable process.
